HYPNOSIS - Changing Behaviors Through Relaxation

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is an effective way to change life-long habits, take back control of your life, and empower your future.

Hypnotherapy has been in use over the last 6,000 years and has been recognized to be a very powerful method for personal development.  Today, people from all over the world use the power of hypnosis to deal with a vast range of problems.

Since 1958, the American Medical Association has officially recognized hypnotherapy as an alternative form of treatment.  There are many benefits from receiving hypnotherapy, including causing a positive change in emotional issues, physical ailments, and mental abilities.

Hypnotherapy activates the “mind over matter” pathway to success and is an easy, enjoyable way for reprogramming your mind for your own success.

What is Hypnosis?

Everyone experiences hypnosis throughout each day.  It occurs just before you fall asleep and just as you awaken.  Other good examples are when you are driving and do not remember exactly how you arrived at your destination, or losing track of time when reading a good book.  Hypnosis is simply a state of heightened relaxation and focused awareness.

When you are relaxed in this way, it is possible to make contact with your subconscious mind and to quiet your critical mind.  The subconscious mind is the part of the mind that contains wisdom and a deep level of intelligence.  It is a resource for creativity and imagination.

The subconscious mind is where all of your emotions reside, and therefore directs nearly all of your behavior.  It is responsible for maintaining the body in good health by controlling all of your involuntary body actions (examples: respiratory system/breathing and digestive system/digesting).

By contacting your subconscious mind through hypnosis, desired changes can be made to improve the quality of your life.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis feels like deep relaxation, however you are fully aware of everything going on around you.  It is a very pleasurable and enjoyable state which is similar to daydreaming or drifting off to sleep.  Overall, you will feel wonderfully relaxed and calm.

Is it safe to go into hypnosis?

Yes!  It is a completely safe and comfortable experience.

Will I be under the hypnotherapist’s “power?”

No!  You are completely in charge the entire time.  No one can make you do anything against your will and you cannot be taken into hypnosis if you do not want to.  It is purely your experience and you are in complete control the entire time.

What if I cannot be hypnotized?

Everyone can be hypnotized if they want to be.  If you think and say “nobody can hypnotize me,” then you are correct, as you are the one who is in control.

Will I fall asleep under hypnosis?

No.  Throughout the entire session you will be in a relaxed state, but be fully awake, focused, and alert.   You will be aware of everything that is happening throughout the entire session.

What does hypnosis feel like?

You already know what it feels like, as throughout the day everyone is in hypnosis about 60% of the time!  Again, losing track of time while watching a good movie or reading a good book are dreamlike states that are times of deep focused relaxation are all natural hypnosis states!

Hypnotherapy allows you to enter these states of relaxation safely and comfortably, so that I can communicate with your imaginative subconscious mind.  I offer “suggestions” to the subconscious mind that are personally suited to your needs and have been agreed upon by us prior to the hypnotherapy session taking place.  You can only accept the “suggestions” if you are in agreement with them, and want these changes to take place in your life.

How can hypnosis help me?

There is no limit to what you can achieve by receiving hypnotherapy.  You have complete power and control to make changes in your life.  These changes take place quickly and are lasting.

Dr. Brian Ruggiero is a certified hypnotherapist who is a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists since 2009.  He has had success utilizing hypnotherapy for patients with complaints including:

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on you and what you wish to change.  Hypnotherapy works fast, so that even deep behavioral problems can be resolved in a few sessions.  This is in comparison to years with other forms of therapy.
